Hello everyone! Could anyone help me get involved in any pathology research projects? I do have experience in working several projects. As I'm highly interested in pathology, I'm seeking any research opportunities in pathology. Thanks in advance.

Hi Arnab! Glad to hear you are interested in Pathology! I cannot offer any leads on the projects front, but as a fellow IMG I can share a few things to consider:

    1. Are you looking for projects you can work on remotely from Dhaka? That might be pretty hard to find, but you could specifically look for mentors who are working on projects (systematic reviews/meta analyses etc) that do not contain sensitive patient information.
    2. I am sure you know this, but if you are looking to come to the U.S on a visitors visa for a few months and participate in projects as a volunteer researcher, the best way is to identify an area of interest and try to reach out to physicians/researchers working in that area (contact information is usually available on the internet).
    3. If you are interested in a longer term commitment, a few places like Mayo clinic have been known to offer research internships to IMGs, although this is hearsay on my end as I do not have personal experience with this.

I'd love it if others on the community would like to correct anything/ add to this!

    Best,

    Bharathi

Thank you so much. Dr. Kavuri, I'm now looking for research opportunities in which I can participate virtually from home (systemic review or meta-analysis). I'm already involved in two projects, but they aren't related to pathology. I learned to do systemic reviews. As I want to follow the USMLE pathway after my graduation, I'm interested in being involved in research projects on pathology. Later, I want to move to the USA for hands-on voluntary opportunities in pathology. Thanks again for your kind reply.
