They are conducting an anonymous, de-identified survey to identify similarities, differences, and potential gaps in the teaching materials and instructional modalities used to prepare medical laboratory scientists/medical technologists.

Subject: Request to Disseminate Research Survey on Comparison of Medical Laboratory Scientists Training in different countries.
Dear Respondent
We, the investigators from the School of Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, Griffith University, Gold Coast Campus, Queensland, Australia, request assistance from your esteemed Institute of Biomedical Sciences (IBMS, UK) in disseminating a research survey to all the institutions in different countries with your accredited Medical Laboratory Science/Biomedical Science/Laboratory Medicine tertiary teaching programs.
Our research aim is to examine the commonalities and differences in tertiary training programs graduating Medical Laboratory Scientists across various countries of different continents and identify any gaps. We wish to compare the program design, teaching and assessment modalities as well as the demographics of students and academics continuing professional development enabling them to incorporate the latest industry needs in their curriculum through a short online survey. The questionnaire for the survey has been designed in consultation with and validated by senior practising medical scientists and teaching faculty from different countries including USA, UK, Gulf Universities and others.
Ethics clearance has been obtained from the Griffith University Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC). Participation is voluntary and should take approximately 30 minutes to complete. This survey is anonymous, filling in and submitting the survey will indicate informed consent of participants in the research. The survey is designed to obtain facts and feedback from participating institution, and we are committed to protecting the privacy of all participants/institutions, except where participants want to include the country of their institution, with all responses remaining anonymous and confidential.
We will provide a summary of the research findings upon completion to share with your members, should you find them beneficial. The findings may benefit all participating institutions in contributing to their internal reflection and quality assurance processes. It may also contribute to the standardisation of tertiary education in Laboratory Medicine, thereby supporting the WHO's initiative to address the shortage of health workers through the Bilateral Agreements Framework for Health Worker Migration and Mobility.
