    Good morning everyone.

    The previous PD required 5 units of CE from the MLT students in our program.  Is this a NAACLS requirement or would this be optional.  Thank you for the advice.

    Greetings,

    According to NAACLS we have to ensure students can demonstrate the ability to "Recognizing and acting upon individual needs for continuing education as a function of growth and maintenance of professional competence." In addition, according to standard VIII(1)5 the curriculum requirements include "Principles and practices of professional conduct and the significance of continuing professional development." CE's are one way to demonstrate this standard. The number of CE's is up to the curriculum.
