I recommend you check the ASCP website for a Chapter (ASCP / CLMA) in your region and join. This will provide you with community and connections to laboratory professionals and job opportunities. All the best.

Subject: Returning to the lab after a long absence (20 years) and have stayed current with ASCP certification
Hi everyone,
Hi everyone,
I'm reaching out because I'm feeling a bit stagnant in my search for a lab position and could really use some advice. After college, I worked in the blood bank/transfusion unit at a Level-1 hospital with constant STATs and ASAPs, and in just three years. Looking back, as a 22-year-old recent graduate, I didn't fully grasp the gravity of the work I was doing amidst the intensity of that setting.
While I moved out of the lab for personal reasons, I never lost my passion for the work. Now, after many years, I'm eager to return to the lab environment.
I hold an MLS(ASCP) certification and graduated from the Clinical Laboratory Science program at Pitt. Although I'm not required to pursue additional education, I've kept up with continuing education to stay current in the field.
I'd greatly appreciate any advice on networking strategies to help me get my foot back in the door.
Thank you in advance for your feedback and support!
