The Texas State University, College of Health Professions, Medical Laboratory Science Program (MLS) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor rank, starting in Fall 2024. The position will be a non-tenure line, nine-month faculty position with possible summer teaching opportunities. This position has a contract term not to exceed five years, subject to annual reappointment review and renewable (indefinitely) upon expiration of the initial term. Rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Deliver innovative and engaging didactic and laboratory MLS course curriculum, as assigned
- Develop, deliver, and evaluate on-campus and/or online instruction, to include course goals, objectives, learning activities, and student assessment (examinations, projects, assignments, etc.)
- Effective service as an academic advisor and career mentor to MLS students
- Support and assist the Clinical Coordinator in the scheduling of clinical rotations and evaluation of student performance during clinical rotations
- Assist in the recruitment and assessment of applications of qualified students who apply to the MLS program
- Serve on departmental, college, and university committees
- Engage with other departments and programs within the College of Health Professions, the Honors College, and other university programs
- Support professional, community, and continuing education service activities within the program
- Perform administrative tasks as assigned by the Program Chair
- Support the mission, vision, goals, and strategic objectives of the program, college, and university
