For the first time, ASM will be holding a full-day workshop* for medical laboratory scientists! This in-person workshop will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington, DC, from 8:45 am to 5:45 pm ET.
The workshop will allow Medical Laboratory Scientists and Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLSs/MLTs) to refresh their knowledge in core microbiology skills such as the basics of antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) and fungal diagnostics. The workshop will provide real-life stories from fellow MLSs on areas in which they have made an impact in the laboratory, affecting patient outcomes, and a panel discussion on career advancement.
Participants will be able to earn up to five (5) hours of ASCLS PACE®, California, or Florida continuing education credit. CE certificates are free for ASM members and $10 for non-members.
This event is intended for practicing MLSs/MLTs of all career stages, so please make sure to share this event with your staff and colleagues, especially if you are local to DC and the surrounding area! The full schedule and summaries can be found on the registration page.
The workshop is open to ASM members and non-members. Registration is limited, so attendees should secure their spot today!
