You are receiving this communication because you are a current dues-paying member of the ASCP West Virginia Chapter (formerly WVCLMA). This is your invitation to a Virtual Town Hall Meeting of the ASCP West Virginia Chapter Membership on June 7th, 2023 at 2:00 PM via Microsoft Teams.
As you may be aware, the Clinical Laboratory Management Association (CLMA) dissolved as a national group with the national board becoming an Advisory Committee within ASCP. The individual chapters decided whether to remain together as affiliates or disband. Your West Virginia chapter board has decided to continue as an organization with the goal of supporting and promoting the clinical laboratory field in our region. As such, our Name, Chapter By-Laws, and other documents need updated to officially recognize we are an affiliate chapter with the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP). The associated resolution and updated By-Laws must be voted on and approved by the chapter membership at a meeting after a 30-day notice has been given. Attached is a draft of the ASCP West Virginia Chapter By-Laws for your review.
We strongly encourage you to attend this meeting. It will help to ensure we have a quorum of our chapter membership to vote on the resolution and to answer any questions you may have with this update.
If you have colleagues interested in joining our chapter, please direct them to ASCP.ORG to register/renew as a member of ASCP and select the West Virginia Chapter or call 1-800-267-2727 to add West Virginia Chapter membership to their current 2023 membership.
