I've always found the most people in common thru work BUT a nursing colleague/friend introduced me to the 'meetup' app. It allowed me to identify groups and clubs in my area that had other interests similar to mine, e.g. skiing club, hiking on weekends, rock climbing. I also tried some new things I NEVER would've done before- golfing, dance classes, women's only investing club- all were fun and challenging and introduced me to people I never would've met at work.
