The ASCP is a center of excellence in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. We recognize its significant contributions and the esteemed value of its professional certification, which is respected and acknowledged globally, creating job opportunities across various regions.

We thank ASCP for the generous donation of laboratory medicine books to the esteemed Addis Ababa University (AAU). As ambassadors for ASCP to Africa, we actively promote its initiatives in East Africa and beyond. However, we have not received support or guidance from ASCP or any institutions to aid these efforts. Recently, Dr. Mistre from Ethiopia highlighted the need for collaboration in certification in this forum, Laboratory Professionals Members Community.

This message is directed not only to ASCP but also to all individuals and organizations that can collaborate on certification, Quality Improvement Programs (QIP), and other initiatives. Africa is significantly behind in the practice of Laboratory Medicine, particularly in Pathology, and we must work together to address this gap.

    Dear Jacen Moore,

Thank you very much for your prompt response! I'm glad to hear about your willingness to contribute and your appreciation for our collaboration in Africa.

We are actively working across the continent to establish the Anatomic Pathology (AP) service, implement Quality Improvement Programs (QIP), and ensure the sustainability of services in Clinical Laboratory Science, particularly in AP. Your awareness and involvement in this initiative are greatly appreciated, and we look forward to discussing the details with you soon.

    Yours sincerely,

    Dear Qichao Ji,

Thank you very much for your positive feedback and willingness to share this with the director of the MLS program. I'm also pleased to learn about your students' collaborations with Rwanda and Ethiopia.

I'll contact you soon to discuss any necessary details, including proposals and plans to work with the countries in need. The establishment of Clinical and Anatomic Pathology services in Africa, particularly in Sub-Saharan countries, is quite limited. Your support and collaboration will play a vital role in enhancing the knowledge and experience of professionals, especially in SBB, as these countries are far behind.

    Yours sincerely,
